Senior Outreach
The Senior Outreach Program, which began in 1999, is a free, activity-based day program for senior citizens over the age of 55. To prevent isolation in their homes and encourage socialization, the participants come together daily. Participants enjoy activities such as Bingo, dominoes, daily devotion, Wii bowling, arts & crafts, field trips, speakers, and a monthly birthday party.
They enjoy their time of fellowship, socializing, and sharing while learning new skills. The Coordinator and Assistant ensure that the participants daily exercise and have a healthy meal, while also monitoring their blood pressure weekly and weights monthly.
Participants being served are from the communities of Mound Bayou, Merigold, Renova, Winstonville and Shelby.
